MEET THE AUTHOR: Are you interested in the author Skyping or using FaceTime to join you in the classroom? Liz loves discussing her books, how to write historical fiction, the historical time period, and the publishing process with students. If she is available she would be excited to facilitate a virtual book discussion from the author's perspective with your students. The only cost to your school is the price of purchasing two books of each title for the school library and one copy of each title for the classroom libraries of the teacher(s) who are hosting the virtual book discussion.

Professional Development: Liz Costanzo-Morrison is a NBC Teacher, National Secondary Social Studies Teacher of the Year, and featured in Annenberg's Social Studies in Action video series. Liz offers professional development for 3rd - 12th grade Social Studies and ELA teachers on utilizing historical fiction, primary sources, writing for understanding and student engagement strategies in the classroom supporting increased student engagement and academic achievement. $850 per day, the purchase of one Liz's books for each participant, plus travel expenses.
Classroom Instruction (Modeling): Invite Liz Costanzo-Morrison to your school to teach for a day. Liz will utilize the novel from her collection you select to engage your students by modeling best practices utilizing historical fiction, primary sources, writing for understanding, and student engagement strategies. The modeling session includes pre and post discussions with the teachers to set the stage for and then debrief the learning experience. Contact Liz at lizcostanzo2016@gmail.com for availability. The novels are Young Adult Historical/Contemporary Fiction - appropriate for Grades 8 and up.
